We recognise that accidents and ill health can be caused by inter-related circumstances in the design and construction process and that the reduction of health and safety risk is vital.

John Lester Partnership Ltd adopt an integrated and multi-faceted approach to providing services and this comes to the fore when undertaking the Principal Designer role, in conjunction with other roles.

Whilst we undertake separate Principal Designer commissions, we believe that we can fulfil this role far more effectively when undertaking other roles on the same project. No matter which approach is taken, we provide a service that fully complies with Construction Design and Management Regulations 2015 and includes:

  • Working closely with the design team and contractor to reduce hazards and residual risks
  • Preparation of Pre-construction Information for individual projects
  • Advising on the competency of designers and contractors
  • Notifying the Health & Safety Executive where required
  • Commenting on the adequacy of the Construction Phase Plan and welfare arrangements prior to commencement of any site works
  • Ensuring that a user friendly Health and Safety File is developed throughout the Construction Phase and provided for the client’s use at handover.
